Tarig Samarkandy MD, FACS, FASMBS, DABOM is a highly experienced surgeon specializing in metabolic and bariatric surgery, with a focus on minimally invasive and robotic techniques. Currently serving as Section Chief of the Department of Surgery at Gould Medical Group since 2015, Tarig holds multiple surgeon roles across various healthcare institutions, including Dameron Hospital Association as Director of the Metabolic & Bariatric Surgery Program, and Sutter Health's Sutter Tracy Community Hospital. Tarig's extensive training includes a fellowship in Minimal Invasive, Bariatrics, and Robotic Surgery at UC Davis Medical Center, as well as residency programs at both San Joaquin General Hospital and Cleveland Clinic. Educational qualifications include a Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) from King AbdulAziz University, obtained between 1997 and 2003.
