Lloyd Yavener has worked in various roles throughout their career. Lloyd is currently a Member and Vice Chair at the Washington County Historic District Commission since August 2021. Prior to this, they served as the President of Sutton National Group, a company that offers national admitted and surplus lines capacity, from November 2019 onwards.
From October 2018 to July 2019, Yavener worked as the General Counsel at Transverse Insurance Group, a P&C program carrier focused on providing capacity to leading MGAs and insurance companies. Before that, they held the position of General Counsel & Chief Program Officer at Greyhawk Insurance Company from January 2017 to September 2018.
Yavener also has experience working at The Rockingham Group as the VP - Specialty Lines from August 2011 to December 2016, and at Clements International as the VP Marketing from March 2007 to July 2009.
Lloyd'searlier experience includes serving as President and CEO of Bankers Independent Insurance Company from January 1988 to February 2007. This company, which is a regional insurer, specializes in specialty automobile products and international property insurance. Bankers Independent Insurance Company is a subsidiary of American Independent Insurance Company.
Lloyd Yavener completed their high school education at Boonsboro High School. Afterward, they pursued a Bachelor of Science degree in Communication Studies from Frostburg State University, graduating in 1980. Following this, they attended the University of Baltimore School of Law from 1981 to 1984, where they obtained a Juris Doctor (JD) degree, specializing in Law. In 1982, they also briefly attended The London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE) to further their studies in Law.
