Richard Lewis

Richard Lewis has a comprehensive work experience in the insurance industry. Richard is currently the Vice President - Underwriting at Sutton National Group since May 2023. Prior to this, they served as the Assistant Vice President - Underwriting at AmTrust Financial Services, Inc. from November 2021 until May 2023.

From 2006 to 2021, Richard held the position of Assistant Vice President - Underwriting at Aix Group/Hanover Programs. In this role, they managed multiple teams of underwriters, oversaw day-to-day underwriting operations, and reported key data to senior management.

Before joining Aix Group/Hanover Programs, Richard worked as a Senior Underwriter at Philadelphia Insurance Companies from July 2004 to June 2006. Richard also served as a Senior Underwriter at Allied Insurance from April 2002 to June 2004, where they handled underwriting responsibilities for various commercial insurance lines.

Richard started their career at Travelers in April 1996 as a Senior Underwriter, responsible for underwriting and rating commercial insurance for medium to small businesses. Prior to that, they worked at Aetna Casualty & Surety from June 1989 to April 1996, starting as an underwriter trainee and progressing to an Account Executive. In this role, they handled all lines of commercial insurance in a territory spanning Northern and Central California and Northern Nevada.

Richard Lewis attended California State University-Sacramento from 1987 to 1989. During this time, they pursued a Bachelor's degree in Finance and Insurance.
