Markus Kemetter has over two decades of experience in product and portfolio management, currently serving as the Head of Product Portfolio at Suunto since 2001. With a strong background in high-end sports watches, Markus has held various roles, including product manager overseeing business development and sales training, system architect focusing on consumer solutions, and concept developer for sports electronics. Prior to Suunto, Markus worked as a Product Development Engineer at PMJ automec from 1998 to 2001. Academic qualifications include a Master of Science (MSc) in Software and Automation from Helsinki University of Technology and a Bachelor of Science (BSc) from Helsinki Institute of Technology.

Suunto was founded in 1936 by Tuomas Vohlonen, a Finnish orienteer and inventor of the liquid-filled field compass.
