Sakthivel Thirumalai

Sakthivel Thirumalai has a diverse work experience in the renewable energy industry. Sakthivel started their career at ELCOT Power Controls Ltd as a Testing and Service Engineer, responsible for control panel wiring, testing, and maintenance of power plants. Sakthivel then worked at Foresight Power Systems Ltd as a Senior Engineer, where they specialized in servicing and customer support for offline and online UPS systems.

In 2005, they joined Suzlon Group as an Assistant Manager in Operations and Maintenance, where they analyzed the root causes of wind turbine faults and performed performance analysis. Sakthivel also gained experience in troubleshooting various turbine components and systems.

After that, Sakthivel joined Nidec SSB Wind Systems as an Assistant Manager, providing technical support and field operations support for customers, including troubleshooting and fault clearing in pitch motion controllers and control panels.

Sakthivel then moved to Leap Green Energy Pvt. Ltd., where they held various positions including Manager Technical, Senior Manager - Technical, and Assistant General Manager - Technical. In these roles, they were responsible for asset management, operation, and maintenance of wind turbines of multiple brands. Sakthivel also implemented and monitored integrated SCADA systems for real-time monitoring and performed WTG performance optimization through SCADA data analytics.

Most recently, Sakthivel worked at Brookfield Renewable as Lead - Engineering, where they were responsible for power plant engineering activities, including root cause analysis of equipment failure and resolving technical and engineering-related issues.

Sakthivel is currently working at Suzlon Group as AGM - Engineering Head for Gujarat State.

Sakthivel Thirumalai completed their Diploma in Electronics and Communication Engineering from The Salem Co-operative Sugar Mill's Polytechnic from 1992 to 1995. Sakthivel then pursued a B.Tech degree in Electrical Engineering from RVD University from 2007 to 2010.
