Marc Van Den Berg

Marc is the Managing Director of OGCI’s Climate Investment Venture Capital arm. He is a member of the firm’s investment committee and an active investor and director of the venture-investing arm of Exelon Corporation, where he was responsible for sourcing, structuring, and managing new investments at the intersection of energy, sustainability, transportation, and smart cities. Curtis holds a B.A. in Economics from the University of Maryland, Baltimore County.

During Marc’s tenure in venture investing he has backed numerous successful companies in the sustainability sector including Tesla Motors, Space X, Bridgelux, Amprius, Apeel Sciences, iWatt, Kinetic, Liquid Robotics, Superior Sensor, ZincFive, Ostara, Glo Semi and Kaiam Inc. During Marc’s last fund, 40North, he backed notable sustainable infrastructure companies such as Proterra, Volta, ZincFive and interesting industrial bets such as Everactive, Menlo Micro, Poka, Aras Communications, Desktop Metal, Join.digital, Tomorrow.IO, Anello Photonics and Latent AI.

Prior to his venture capital career, Marc spent 25 years in both venture-backed startups and multi-national public companies in Silicon Valley and abroad.

Marc is a graduate of Santa Clara University with a degree in Electrical Engineering with an emphasis on high-energy physics. Marc is active at Santa Clara; serving on the board of the Business School’s Center of innovation and Entrepreneurship. He is also Chairman of the Board of Santa Clara’s Engineering school. Additionally, Marc serves as an advisor to various Universities and US National Labs including UC Davis, Cal Poly San Luis Obispo, MIT, PNNL, LLNL, and others.
