SVCREATES
Rubén Darío Villa is an experienced creative professional currently serving as a Bay Area Creative Corps Artist at MACLA/Movimiento de Arte y Cultura Latino Americana since January 2024. As the Director of La Ofrenda Festival, Villa has been instrumental in honoring Indigenous traditions through a multi-generational celebration in Gilroy. Additionally, Villa is the Founder and Creative Director of Fuchilandia, a cultural design venture, and the Founder & CEO of Fúchila Fresheners, a popular Chicano and Latinx collectibles brand. Villa also chairs the Gilroy Arts Roundtable at SVCREATES and has held multiple senior design roles at Google and Apple. Villa earned a Bachelor of Arts in Studio Arts from Santa Clara University and brings a rich background in visual design and community engagement.

SVCREATES is a regional nonprofit organization dedicated to igniting investment and engagement in creative culture. The time and resources of SVCREATES are directed towards: participatory arts aligned with Silicon Valley's DIY culture; cultural heritage in service to Silicon Valley's international community; children's creativity as a way of nurturing youth's healthy development; innovative ideas, partnerships, models, and art forms as a claim to the future; and placemaking as a means of fostering identity and deepening connections.
