Mats Wallinder has a diverse work experience spanning over several different roles and companies. Mats started their career as a Clearing and Settlement of Securities at Värdepapperscentralen VPC AB in 1987. Mats then moved to Värdepapperscentralen in 1989, where they became the Head of Training and Business Development for Clearing and Settlement. In 1997, they joined Sveriges Riksbank as a Business Analyst, where they were responsible for developing a new monitoring system for the Swedish Large Value System. Mats also worked on the Riksbank's preparations for joining TARGET and participated in developing a project management model that is still in use. Mats held various roles at Sveriges Riksbank, including Head of the Payment System Division, Advisor to the Head of the Asset Management Department, and Senior Advisor in the General Secretariat. From 2012 to the present, they serve as the Deputy Head of the Cash & Payment Systems Department. Mats also has been involved in external roles such as serving on the Election Committee and Board Member of the Swedish National Member Group SWIFT, as well as being a member of the TARGET Management Working Group and the Settlement Managers Group at the European Central Bank.
