Thomas Affolter

Thomas Affolter currently serves as the Head of Swatch Group Quality Management and Product Compliance Manager, overseeing product compliance with international regulations and managing technical specifications for suppliers. Affolter has been with Swatch Group since October 2007 and has held various compliance-related roles, including coordinator for REACH Regulation, RoHS, and WEEE Directives, as well as managing legal oversight for product safety and environmental standards. Prior experience includes positions at Metalor Technologies SA as Quality and Toxic Material Manager and Environment Manager, as well as a role as Geoscientist at Total and Scientific Assistant at Bundesamt für Landestopografie swisstopo. Thomas Affolter holds a Ph.D. in Geological and Earth Sciences from Université Joseph Fourier, along with a Master’s Degree from Université de Neuchâtel and postgraduate education in Health, Environment, and Safety from School of Management Fribourg.
