Jennifer Chikar, PhD has over a decade of experience in research and academia. In 2021, they began working at Sway Medical as the Director of Research and Research Manager. From 2014-2021, they worked at The Scholl Center for Communication Disorders as an Auditory Neuroscientist/Hearing Aid Department Supervisor, providing care for up to 80 weekly new and established patients, counseling patients on appropriate hearing loss and tinnitus treatment options, and programming hearing aids using industry-specific software. From 2011-2013, they worked at American Journal Experts as an Editor, overseeing the editing of technically complex scientific manuscripts for spelling, grammar, syntax, and phrasing errors, and reviewing biomedical articles for scientific validity prior to journal submission. From 2013-2014, they were a Visiting Assistant Professor at Albright College, instructing Biological Basis of Psychology, Sensation & Perception, Research Methods, Statistics, and General Psychology, and serving as a Senior Thesis Advisor and Independent Research Project Advisor. In 2012, they were an Adjunct Professor at Wilmington University and a Visiting Assistant Professor at Washington College, instructing Auditory Perception, Sensation & Perception, Research Methods, Statistics, and Introduction to Psychology, and serving as a Graduate Student Advisor and Undergraduate Independent Project Advisor. From 2009-2011, they were a Postdoctoral Fellow at the University of Connecticut Health Center, optimizing molecular biology, histology, and electrophysiology techniques to develop cohesive explanations of the structural and functional role of the midbrain in auditory sensation and perception, and managing up to 5 projects at a time.
Jennifer Chikar, PhD completed their Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Florida State University in 2003. Jennifer then pursued their Ph.D in Neuroscience from the University of Michigan, which they obtained in 2009. In 2015, they obtained a Hearing Aid Dealer and Fitter certification from the Oklahoma Department of Health.
