Sharmila Kassim

Sharmila Kassim is an accomplished technology leader with extensive experience in application development and information technology. Currently serving as Vice President of Application Development at SWBC since June 2022, Sharmila previously held the position of Director of Information Technology at National General Insurance from October 2015 to July 2022, where responsibilities included steering technology transformations and leading Agile teams. With a foundational background in application architecture and development from companies such as QBE FIRST and ZCSterling, Sharmila has demonstrated expertise in integrating modern technologies, guiding teams toward best practices, and enhancing client service delivery. Sharmila holds a BSc in Computer Science and Mathematics from the University of the Witwatersrand.
