Alyson Eddie

Natural Resource Program Director at SWCA

Alyson Eddie has extensive work experience in the environmental consulting field. Alyson is currently working as the Natural Resource Program Director for SWCA Environmental Consultants in their Salt Lake City and Vernal, Utah offices. Alyson joined SWCA in 2017 as a Project Manager and Senior Biologist before being promoted to their current role. Prior to joining SWCA, Alyson worked at Logan Simpson as a Senior Biologist from 2014 to 2017, where they focused on county resource management planning, authored natural resources and environmental education plans, and conducted scientific study design and implementation. Alyson also worked at BIO-WEST, Inc. from 2007 to 2014 as an Ecologist and Project Manager, handling project management for federal agency clients. From 2003 to 2007, Alyson worked as an Environmental Scientist at Ibis Environmental, Inc., where they managed projects for small private clients and conducted wetland delineations and 404 permitting. Alyson started their career as a Resource Conservation Intern at The Perry Institute for Marine Science from 2002 to 2004, where they conducted assessments and wrote environmental assessments for the Loxahatchee River Estuary in south Florida. Prior to that, Alyson worked as an Education Director at Busch Wildlife Sanctuary from 2001 to 2003, developing educational programming and presenting at schools and environmental events throughout Florida.

Alyson Eddie obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Ecology and Environmental Biology with a Business Management Concentration from Appalachian State University, where they studied from 1995 to 2001. In addition to their degree, they hold various certifications including being a Utah Prairie Dog Surveyor obtained in June 2015 from the US Fish and Wildlife Service (USFWS), a Certified Stormwater Pollution Prevention Inspector obtained in May 2014 from Utah LTAP, Southwestern Willow Flycatcher Survey Training from the Arizona Game and Fish Department in 2007, and Hydric Soils Identification and Wetland Delineation obtained in May 2004 from Southeast Soil and Environmental Services, Inc.
