Brian Jonescu has a diverse background in environmental consulting and research. Brian currently works as an Assistant Staff Geospatial Scientist at SWCA Environmental Consultants, where they conduct geospatial tasks using ESRI ArcGIS software to support cultural and natural resource projects. Prior to this role, they were an Environmental Planner at Soundview Consultants LLC, where they performed wetland delineations and habitat assessments, prepared environmental assessments and mitigation reports, and managed various development projects.

Brian also has experience as an Environmental Scientist at Halff Associates, where they specialized in wetland identification, GIS mapping, and tree surveys. Brian completed a wetland delineation training course to provide expertise in wetland delineations and site development. Additionally, they worked as a Research Associate at the Texas Water Resources Institute, managing water quality projects and conducting GIS analysis. As a Graduate Student Research Assistant at the same institute, they focused on the Matagorda Bay Watershed Characterization project and performed general office duties.

Earlier in their career, Brian served as a Student Intern at the Irvine Ranch Water District, where they contributed to the Natural Treatment Systems Annual Report by organizing data on chemical concentrations in wetlands. Brian also assisted in organizing data on air quality permits for the water district's machinery.

From 2013 to 2017, Brian attended Texas A&M University and obtained a Master's Degree (Coursework Only) in Water Management and Hydrological Sciences.

Prior to that, from 2009 to 2013, they attended Baylor University and earned a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Environmental Science.

Before entering university, from 2005 to 2009, Brian attended Northwood High School.

In addition to their academic degrees, Brian has also obtained several certifications. In June 2018, they completed the USACE Wetland Delineation Training program offered by the Wetland Training Institute, Inc. Furthermore, in June 2015, they obtained the certification in Quality Project and Program Management from the United States Environmental Protection Agency.
