Conner Stratton

Conner Stratton has a diverse work experience in various roles related to environmental conservation, lifeguarding, and water safety. In 2013, they started as a USLA Ocean Lifeguard for the City of Morro Bay, where they provided public safety and trained in CPR, first aid, and aquatic rescue techniques. Conner later became a Program Coordinator, overseeing the operational policies for the junior lifeguard program. Additionally, Conner worked as a Junior Lifeguard Instructor, supervising participants and teaching water safety and rescue techniques.

In 2016, Conner also served as a Reserve Harbor Patrol Officer I for the City of Morro Bay, providing boater assistance and water emergency response. Conner joined the International Surf Lifesaving Association in 2022 as a Water Resources Specialist, where they volunteered with the Nicaraguan Red Cross during Holy Week to ensure public safety on the beaches.

Conner's work experience also includes serving as a Surfing Instructor for Operation Surf in 2019, where they acted as a wellness advocate and provided therapeutic experiences for participants.

Recently, they joined SWCA Environmental Consultants as an Assistant Staff Biologist, utilizing their expertise in environmental conservation.

Conner Stratton completed a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Ecology, Evolution, Systematics, and Population Biology from Humboldt State University. Conner attended the university from 2018 to 2021.

Prior to their time at Humboldt State University, Conner attended Cuesta College in 2016, where they studied Emergency Medical Technology/Technician (EMT Paramedic). However, it is not specified whether they obtained a degree from Cuesta College.

In addition to their academic pursuits, Conner has obtained several certifications. In June 2020, they received the USLA Ocean Lifeguard certification from California State Parks. In November 2016, they obtained the K38 Technical Rescue Water Craft certification from K38 Rescue Water Craft Services. In May 2013, they obtained the First Aid for Public Safety Personnel certification from the American Red Cross, as well as the USLA Ocean Lifeguard certification from Morro Bay Harbor Department. Lastly, in April 2013, they obtained the CPR/AED for Professional Rescuers certification from the United States Lifesaving Association.
