Project Manager & Restoration Ecologist at SWCA

Jayden Peterson's work experience begins with their current role as a Forest Ecologist & Project Manager at SWCA Environmental Consultants, where they facilitate forestry and wildland fire planning services across the United States. Prior to this, Jayden worked as a Forester II at the Nevada Division of Forestry, where they managed natural resource projects in Southern and Central Nevada, ensuring compliance with state and federal laws. Before that, Jayden served as a Lead Forestry Technician (Fuels) at Lake Travis Fire Rescue, providing leadership and project direction in fuels reduction activities. They also worked for the U.S. Forest Service in various roles, including Forestry Technician on the Region One Timber Strike Team and in Timber Sale Prep, as well as Forest Monitor in the areas of Streams and Noxious Weeds. In these roles, Jayden carried out a range of tasks such as tree marking, timber cruising, unit layout, and boundary delineation, as well as monitoring streams and noxious weeds and providing recommendations to the public and elected officials.

Jayden Peterson has a Bachelor of Science degree in Forestry, with a focus on Forest Management/Forest Resources Management, from the University of Montana. In addition to their degree, Jayden has obtained several certifications, including Candidate Certified Forester (CCF) from the Society of American Foresters, Commercial Applicator from the Nevada Department of Agriculture, Fire Fighter Type ll, Resource Advisor Trainee, and S-212 from the National Wildfire Coordinating Group (NWCG).
