John D. has a diverse work experience in the field of geospatial science, archaeology, and GIS. John started their career in 2014 as a Senior Support Analyst at Trimble. In 2016, they worked as a Graduate Teaching Assistant at Oregon State University. John then went on to work as an Intern and GIS Technician at the U.S. Forest Service in 2018. From 2018 to 2019, they held various roles as an Archaeological Field Technician and GIS Specialist at Stantec and WHPacific Inc. In 2019, they worked as an Archaeological Field Technician at SWCA Environmental Consultants and Historical Research Associates, Inc. From 2019 to 2022, they worked as a Geographic Information System Specialist at PaleoWest Archaeology. Currently, they are employed as a Staff Geospatial Scientist at SWCA Environmental Consultants.

John D. began their education at Community Colleges of Spokane in 2011, where they obtained an Associate of Arts (A.A.) degree in General Education in 2013. John then transferred to California State University-Sacramento in 2013 and studied Anthropology for a year, before transferring again to Oregon State University in 2014. At Oregon State University, they completed their Bachelor's Degree in Anthropology in 2016. From 2016 to 2018, John pursued a Certificate in Geographic Information Science and Cartography at Oregon State University. Finally, they continued their education at Oregon State University and earned a Master's degree in Applied Anthropology with a focus on Archaeology in 2022.
