Katelyn Cary

Project Ecologist at SWCA

Katelyn Cary has a diverse work experience in the environmental and conservation field. Katelyn began their career in 2009 as a Fitness/Wellness Program Assistant and Group Fitness Instructor at the University of Texas at Austin. In 2012, they interned as a Fisheries and Water Quality Intern with Americorps Watershed Stewards Project.

Cary then worked as a Research Technician at Friday Harbor Marine Health Observatory in 2013 and as a Festival Coordinator Intern at the Colorado River Alliance. From 2014 to 2016, they served as a Fisheries Technician at the Pacific States Marine Fisheries Commission.

In 2016, Cary became a Fisheries Technician at Utah State University and later in 2017, they worked as a Field Crew Manager at Utah State University National Aquatic Monitoring Center. Katelyn then served as an AIM Project Manager at the American Conservation Experience from 2018 to 2019.

Their most recent position is as a Hydrology Technician at the National Park Service in 2019. Currently, Cary is a Project Ecologist at SWCA Environmental Consultants starting in 2020.

Katelyn Cary's education history includes attending The University of Texas at Austin from 2008 to 2012. During this time, they pursued a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Marine and Freshwater Biology.
