Matt Pierce, P.E. has over 15 years of experience in engineering and environmental consulting. Matt is currently working as a Senior Civil Engineer at SWCA Environmental Consultants. Prior to this, they worked at Penn Environmental & Remediation, Inc. for nine years as a Senior Project Manager, where they managed site design and permitting for the utility and oil and gas industry, as well as water sampling projects. Before that, they worked at Bechtel Marine Propulsion Corporation as an Engineer in Nuclear Engineering Operations, where they designed and maintained a centralized residual waste inventory and managed the shipment budget for hazardous materials. Matt also handled PCB documentation, disposal, and storage requirements. From 2007 to 2010, they worked at Civil & Environmental Consultants, Inc. as a Project Consultant, overseeing gas extraction well inspections and serving as a Construction Quality Assurance supervisor. In 2006, they briefly worked at Trans Associates, Inc. as an Associate Analyst, performing traffic analysis and transportation design analysis for various projects. Overall, Matt Pierce has a diverse range of experience in engineering and environmental consulting roles.
Matt Pierce, P.E., completed their Bachelor of Science degree in Civil & Environmental Engineering at the University of Pittsburgh from 2002 to 2006. In addition to their undergraduate education, Matt has obtained several Professional Engineer (PE) certifications in various states, including Texas, Tennessee, Maine, Michigan, Massachusetts, Kentucky, Wyoming, Colorado, Ohio, West Virginia, and Pennsylvania. Matt also holds a HAZWOPER 40 Hour Certificate from Professional Training Associates, Inc., which they obtained in February 2015.
