Melanie Gregory has a diverse range of work experience spanning over multiple companies. Melanie began their career as an Intern at the US Fish and Wildlife Service in 1992, assisting refuge biologists with various tasks. Melanie then worked at the Knoxville Zoo, where they started as a Lead Keeper for the Department of Herpetology, overseeing the care of reptiles and amphibians. Melanie later transitioned to the role of Marketing and Development Assistant, managing public relations and assisting with grant writing and fundraising activities. In 2000, they joined BHE Environmental, Inc. as a Biologist/Project Manager, specializing in coordinating and managing biological field survey teams for environmental compliance. Melanie was later promoted to the position of Senior Biologist and Associate Director, where they supervised staff and helped clients find solutions for natural resource management issues. In 2012, Melanie joined SWCA Environmental Consultants, where they initially served as a Senior Project Manager, designing strategies for complex environmental compliance issues. Melanie then became the Natural Resources Program Director, responsible for coordinating a diverse group of professionals and providing innovative compliance solutions to clients. In 2019, Melanie was promoted to Vice President, overseeing the Midwest and Northeast regions, managing staff, and driving business development and client services. Currently, they hold the position of Senior Vice President, leading the North Region of SWCA Environmental Consultants.
Melanie Gregory attended the University of Tennessee, Knoxville from 1991 to 1995, where they pursued a Bachelor of Science degree in Wildlife & Fisheries Science, with a minor in Zoology. Melanie then enrolled at Miami University in 2004 and completed coursework for a Master's degree in Zoology, focusing on Ecological Physiology, in the following year.
