Olivia Tierk

Olivia Tierk has extensive work experience in the field of archaeology and museum volunteer work. Olivia began their career as an intern at the Cowell Lime Works Historic District, where they gained practical skills in excavation techniques, collections management, cataloging artifacts, and site survey. Olivia then went on to work as an intern at UCSC Anthro Lab and UCSC Household Archaeology Lab, further honing their skills in archaeological research. Olivia also served as a floor volunteer at the Natural History Museum of Los Angeles County and as an archaeological and paleontological field technician at Paleo Solutions, Inc. Olivia later joined Cardno as a staff archaeologist, where they worked until 2022. During this time, they also interned at the University of York as a Human Osteology Lab intern. In 2022, Olivia became a Jorvik Viking Centre Close Up Collections Volunteer at York Archaeological Trust. Olivia then joined SWCA Environmental Consultants as an Assistant Project Manager/Archaeologist. In 2023, they joined The Getty Villa as a Family Forum Volunteer Docent. Olivia's work experience demonstrates their expertise in archaeology, project management, and museum volunteer work.

Olivia Tierk's education history includes a Master of Arts in Funerary Archaeology from the University of York, which they obtained from 2021 to 2022. Prior to that, they earned a Bachelor of Arts in Anthropology with a focus on Archaeology from the University of California, Santa Cruz from 2009 to 2012.
