Russell Shapiro

Russell Shapiro is a seasoned professional in the field of paleontology and geology with a comprehensive background in academic and practical applications. Currently serving as Principal at Sub-Terra Heritage Resource Investigations and SWCA Environmental Consultants, along with roles as Principal Paleontologist at Far Western Anthropological Research Group, Inc. and Principal and Qualified Paleontologist at Sub-Yerra Heritage Resource Consulting, Russell has extensive experience in paleontological resource evaluation. In academia, Russell holds the position of Professor at California State University, Chico, and previously served as Assistant Professor at Gustavus Adolphus College. Russell earned a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Geological and Earth Sciences from UC Santa Barbara and a Bachelor of Science (BS) in Geology/Earth Science from Humboldt State University.
