Thomas Sankey has over 30 years of work experience in the environmental consulting and engineering field. Thomas started their career in 1985 as a Cartographer at Adirondack Associates, and then moved on to become an Environmental Analyst at Bagdon Environmental Associates from 1986 to 1990. Following that, they joined Malcolm Pirnie Engineers as a Project Scientist, where they worked their way up to the position of Associate. Sankey was with Malcolm Pirnie Engineers for 13 years, from 1990 to 2003. Since 2003, they have been working at SWCA Environmental Consultants as a Sr. Project Manager/Sr. Ecologist.
Thomas Sankey received their Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Geography from the University of South Carolina, attending from 1977 to 1981. Following this, they pursued a Master of Arts (M.A.) degree in Geography with a focus on Ecology Thesis at The University of Kansas, completing it from 1981 to 1985. During their high school years from 1973 to 1977, Thomas attended Collegiate High School, although no specific degree or field of study is mentioned. In addition to their formal education, Thomas obtained certification as a Professional Wetland Scientist from the Society of Wetland Scientists - Professional Certification Program in May 2012.
