Per Ängquist

Per Ängquist is an experienced leader in environmental policy and management, currently serving as Generaldirektör at Kemikalieinspektionen since October 2019. Prior roles include Statssekreterare at the Miljö- och energidepartementet from June 2016 to January 2019, overseeing issues related to the environment, conservation, chemical safety, nuclear security, environmental research, urban development, water quality, and air quality. Ängquist also acted as Statssekreterare at the Statsrådsberedningen from October 2014 to June 2016, addressing complex political matters within the government. Previously, Ängquist was the Kanslichef for Miljöpartiet de gröna, managing the party's administrative operations and advising leadership. Additional experience includes roles as Politiskt sakkunnig in the Ministry of Education and Research, Omvärldsanalytiker at United Minds, and Pressekreterare at Naturskyddsforeningen, among others. Ängquist holds a degree in Agronomy from the Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences and has a background in strategic sustainability consulting.
