Dr. Matthias Mechelke has a diverse work experience in various roles and industries. Dr. Matthias started their career as a Research Assistant at Technische Universität München in 2011. Dr. Matthias then went on to work as an Intern at Clariant in 2013. In 2014, they joined Technische Universität München again, this time as a PhD student, focusing on biorefinery improvement and the development of enzyme systems.

During their time as a PhD student, they also worked as a Research Scholar and later Team Lead at PreScouter, Inc., where they led small consulting and research projects for Fortune 500 companies, primarily in the healthcare sector.

In 2017, Dr. Mechelke interned at Amgen, where they gained experience in marketing, medical, and market access, with a focus on therapeutic areas such as oncology, hematology, and inflammatory diseases.

Following their internship, they joined IQVIA in 2018, initially as an Analyst and later as a Consultant. In these roles, they mainly worked on planning and writing AMNOG dossiers, supporting clients in the AMNOG process, and developing market access strategies for innovative products.

Dr. Matthias'smost recent position, starting in 2019, is with Sobi - Swedish Orphan Biovitrum AB (publ), where they have held various roles including Patient Access Manager, Senior Patient Access Manager, and currently, Market Access New Products Lead DACH.

Dr. Matthias Mechelke completed their education at the Technical University of Munich. Dr. Matthias obtained a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) degree in Molecular Biotechnology from 2008 to 2011, followed by a Master of Science (M.Sc.) degree in Industrial Biotechnology from 2011 to 2014. Dr. Matthias then pursued their Doktor (Ph.D.) in Biotechnology from 2014 to 2018. In addition to their academic qualifications, Dr. Mechelke also holds certifications such as the Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM) from the Project Management Institute. Dr. Matthias has also received training in GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice).
