Garrett Runing

Garrett Runing is a Developmental Adaptive Physical Education (DAPE) Teacher at Independent School District 196, actively involved in coaching and athlete development. Garrett has experience as a Dakota Hawks CI Floor Hockey JV Coach and as the Rosemount Assistant Swim Coach, focusing on skill-appropriate practices and building relationships with athletes and families. Long-standing coaching roles include a Club Swim Coach at South Metro Storm Swim Club and previous positions at YMCA of the Greater Twin Cities as a Senior Coordinator of Lifeguards and Safety. An educator with a Post Baccalaureate in Health and Physical Education from Minnesota State University, Mankato, Garrett also has practical experience from teaching at Edina Public Schools and various internships, including with Boys and Girls Clubs of Greater La Crosse. Additional roles include work at Sweet Martha's Cookie Jar and multiple city positions, showcasing a diverse skill set and commitment to youth development and community service.
