Joseph Tosey has held a variety of roles in the tech industry since 1985. Joseph began their career as a Software Developer at Glenayre, then moved to Consultant at SHL Systemhouse, where they were featured in the 1989 Annual Report for the solo development of a travel and logistics application for the Kemano Completion Project. From 1991 to 1992, they were Team Lead, Software at OSIware, where they were responsible for the development of a fault-tolerant X. 400 email - fax gateway. Joseph then moved to Glenayre as Director, Platform Software, where they had product responsibility for embedded operating systems, device drivers, networking stacks and network management applications for wireless messaging systems used by more than 20 million subscribers on five continents. In 2000, they became Chief Architect at Sierra Wireless, followed by Senior Director, Platform at Dyaptive Systems from 2005 to 2012. During this time, they drove the development of the DMTS-9000 3G load test system and invented a general abstract syntax notation and built a compiler for UMTS, EVDO and LTE non-ASN. 1 protocol messages. In 2012, they became Director, R&D at WareWolf, where they developed web-centric systems on a contract basis. From 2013 to 2016, they were VP R&D at Omnistream, where they provided an integrated Content-as-a-Service (CaaS) and omni-channel call center product. Joseph then moved to Sweet Relish as VP R&D in 2016.
Joseph Tosey's education history includes a BBS in Biblical Studies from CBC (1981-1984), a BSc in Math-Computing Joint Honors from Simon Fraser University (1984-1989), an MBA in Business from Ivey Business School at Western University (1999-2001), a SAPM in Advanced Project Management from Stanford University (2011), and Software Engineering for SaaS from University of California, Berkeley (2012).
