Edward Longhurst-Pierce

Edward Longhurst-Pierce has a wealth of experience in the corporate and public sectors. Edward began their career in 2000 as a Teacher at Universidad Nacional de San Agustin de Arequipa, where they taught university lecturers and students. In 2002, they were a Lecturer at Universidad Autónoma de Chiapas, teaching English and the history of the English language, as well as education and translation. From 2008 to 2010, they worked at Canning House as Manager of Corporate Affairs, where they were responsible for corporate and government relations with sectors operating across Latin America, as well as political and country intelligence. During this time, they also worked at the Lafferty Group as Manager of Emerging Markets. In 2010, they joined OMFIF as Director of External Relations and Board Member, where they were responsible for government relations, stakeholder engagement, marketing and communications, media relations, commercial partnerships, and planning and strategy. From 2020 to 2021, they were a Specialist/Consultant at The Latin Americanist, where they provided political, sectoral and country risk analysis to help businesses navigate Latin America. Edward is currently the Director of Engagement and Partnerships at Sovereign Wealth Fund Institute Inc., where they are building a global network of financial institutions, professional services firms, tech partners, NGOs and universities.

Edward Longhurst-Pierce attended Woodbridge School from 1990 to 1997, achieving A Levels. From 1998 to 2002, they attended the University of Surrey, obtaining a BA in French & Spanish. In 2000, they attended Université Lumière Lyon 2, obtaining a Diplôme d'études universitaires générales in Fine and Studio Arts, French. Lastly, from 2004 to 2006, they attended the University of the West of England, obtaining an MA in Translation (Spanish & French).
