Jochen Titus

Staff Process Engineer at Swift Solar

Jochen was intrigued by the concept of renewable energy at a very young age. Being able to make a living in this field is a childhood dream come true. He finds his work life balance in various sports, like bicycling, running, and dancing, and in food related activities. The recent years have also piqued his interest in politics. Jochen earned a Physics diploma at Stuttgart University, in his native Germany, and a PhD in Materials Science from the University of Delaware. He did the research for his PhD at the Institute of Energy Conversion. Afterwards, in 2004, he joined MiaSole, a Silicon Valley startup that set out to manufacture the film stack for CIGS based solar modules entirely through sputtering. Jochen’s main responsibilities became the development of the CIGS sputter process and the transfer of in-house research successes into development, pilot phase and production. He joined Swift Solar in January 2021.
