Sarah Maddison currently serves as the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Education & Student Experience) at UNSW since June 2023. Prior to this role, Sarah Maddison spent over two decades at Swinburne University of Technology, where positions included Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Education, Experience & Employability), Pro Vice-Chancellor (Academic Innovation & Change), and Professor of Astrophysics. Sarah Maddison's academic career began as a Postdoctoral Fellow at Swinburne University, leading to roles such as Lecturer, Senior Lecturer, and Associate Professor, culminating in a professorship in 2014. Sarah Maddison also contributed to astronomy education as the program coordinator for the world's longest-running online postgraduate degree in astronomy. Before tenure at Swinburne, Sarah Maddison gained international experience as an Assistant Professor at New Mexico State University and a postdoctoral fellow at Observatoire de Grenoble, focusing on planet formation and numerical modeling. Sarah Maddison holds a PhD in Astrophysics and a Bachelor of Science with Honours in Applied Mathematics, both from Monash University.
