Leemon Baird

Leemon Baird is a highly experienced technology leader with a robust background in computer science and cybersecurity. Baird currently serves as Chief Scientist and Co-CEO at Hashgraph since May 2022 and has been the Founder and CTO of Swirlds Inc. since September 2015. Previously, Baird was the Founder and Chief Scientist of Hedera Hashgraph from January 2018 to May 2022 and has worked as a consultant from April 2012 to September 2015. Baird's earlier roles include Senior Research Scientist at the Academy Center for Cyberspace Research, Co-founder and CTO at BlueWave Security, Visiting Professor at KAUST, Professor of Computer Science at the US Air Force Academy, Director of Security Engineering at Symbol Technologies (Motorola), and Co-founder and CTO at Trio Security. Baird holds a PhD in Computer Science from Carnegie Mellon University and a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science from the United States Air Force Academy.
