Sheyda Shams has extensive work experience in the field of engineering technology. Sheyda started their career at MSR Solutions Inc. in 2020 as a Water/Wastewater Technologist intern, where they worked on various projects related to water and wastewater treatment. Sheyda prepared reports for rainwater harvesting, groundwater supply, septic systems, wetland disposal, and stream/lake/river disposal projects. Sheyda also assisted in the analysis of water quality lab results and the design of treatment systems. Sheyda continued their work at MSR Solutions Inc. in 2021 as a Water & Wastewater Technologist, focusing on similar responsibilities but with an increased level of responsibility.

Sheyda Shams attended Esquimalt High School from 2016 to 2020, where they obtained their High School Diploma. Sheyda participated in the 4C Challenge Program & Double Dogwood during their time there.
After completing high school, Sheyda enrolled in the University of Waterloo in 2020. Sheyda is currently pursuing a Bachelor of Applied Science (BASc) in Honours Environmental Engineering with a Co-Op option. Their expected graduation year is 2026.
In addition to their academic pursuits, Sheyda also obtained certifications during their time at the University of Waterloo. In December 2020, they received a certification in Civil 3D (AutoCAD), and in November 2020, they obtained a Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) certification. Both certifications were obtained from the University of Waterloo.
