Jeroen Sonsma

Jeroen Sonsma has extensive work experience in the financial industry. Jeroen is currently the CEO of Swishfund since August 2020. Before that, they worked for flatex AG as the Managing Director of Flatex NL. During their time there, they successfully launched the online brokerage platform in the Netherlands, attracting 30K clients in 6 months. Jeroen also oversaw the takeover of DeGiro. Prior to that, Jeroen held various roles at BinckBank, including Managing Director of the Netherlands, Manager of Client Development, and Manager of Relation/Key account management. Jeroen was responsible for building and running the retail business and B2B service in the Netherlands. Jeroen also worked as a Partner and Manager of Derivatives Trading at Alphabay Capital, where they specialized in derivatives trading. Jeroen served as the Manager of Derivatives Trading Netherlands at Van der Moolen and worked as an Equity / Index Derivatives Trader at Curvalue B.V. In addition, they were a Team Leader of Equity Derivatives Trading at Curvalue / VDM. Overall, Jeroen has a strong background in financial management, business development, and trading within the financial industry.

Jeroen Sonsma's education history begins with their attendance at Zuyderzee College from 1985 to 1991. During this time, they pursued a VWO degree with a focus on Bèta (science subjects). Following that, they enrolled in Nyenrode Business University from 1991 to 1994, where they completed a Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) program with a specialization in Management Science. Lastly, they attended Rotterdam School of Management, Erasmus University from 1994 to 1999, where they earned the degree of Drs (doctorandus) in Economics.
