Dr. Gieri Hinnen

Dr. Gieri Hinnen has an extensive and diverse work experience. Dr. Gieri served as the Head of Cargo Global Sales at Swiss WorldCargo, the air cargo division of SWISS, starting in 2023. Prior to that, they held various roles at Swiss International Air Lines, including Head of Labor Relations & HR Steering and Senior Manager in political affairs, environment, and strategic communication.

In addition, Dr. Hinnen was the President of the Board of Trustees for SWISS Vorsorgestiftung für das Kabinenpersonal and a member of the Board of Trustees for Pensionskasse Cockpit at PFS Pension Fund Services AG.

Dr. Gieri also worked as a Lecturer at the University of St. Gallen - HSG and served as a member of the Swiss Advisory Board at the American Swiss Foundation.

Earlier in their career, Dr. Hinnen was a co-founder of Instantview.ch and worked as an intern at CNC Consulting. Dr. Gieri also gained experience as a Graduate Assistant at the Institute for Information Technology, St. Gallen University, and as an ad writer at Trimarca Strategie + Design.

Dr. Gieri Hinnen has an extensive education history. In 2004, they obtained a Bachelor of Arts (B.A. HSG) in International Affairs from the University of St.Gallen. Dr. Gieri then pursued a Master of Arts in International Affairs & Governance from the same university, which they completed in 2008. In the same year, Dr. Hinnen also participated in an exchange semester at the Schulich School of Business - York University, where they focused on Business Administration.

In 2008, they furthered their education by enrolling in the CEMS MSc in International Management program at The London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE), which they completed in 2009. Finally, Dr. Hinnen completed their academic journey at the University of St.Gallen, where they earned a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Strategic Management in 2015. Their doctoral research focused on the topic of Aviation and the Carbon Challenge.
