Georgios Sarlas

Georgios Sarlas, Dr. sc. ETH, currently serves as a Business Intelligence Principal Data Scientist in Revenue Management at Swiss International Air Lines since December 2021, following a role as Business Intelligence Data Scientist in Commercial Offer. Prior experience includes a position as Senior Scientific Researcher at the Institute for Transport Planning and Systems at ETH Zurich, where quantitative research focused on traffic engineering and network accessibility, utilizing deep learning for real-time travel time predictions. Additionally, Georgios contributed as a Research and Teaching Assistant at ETH Zurich, specializing in transport demand modeling and spatial analysis. Previous roles include Traffic Engineer at WSP Group, where Georgios developed a micro-simulation dynamic traffic model for Stockholm, and a Research Assistant at KTH Royal Institute of Technology, integrating transport modeling into big data analytics. Georgios holds a PhD in Transport Planning from ETH Zurich and an MSc in Transport Systems from KTH Royal Institute of Technology, along with a Dipl. Engineer in Survey Engineering from the National Technical University of Athens.
