Rene Schmassmann

Rene Schmassmann currently serves as Head of Engineering in a project role at Lufthansa Group Digital Hangar since October 2022. Prior to this, Rene held the position of Head of IT Software and Engineering at Swiss International Air Lines since January 2014, overseeing all software development and engineering activities within the company. Between October 2017 and December 2022, Rene was Head of Digital Delivery Lab at Lufthansa Group, contributing to the digitalization of the airline with a team of software engineers across multiple locations. Earlier roles include Delivery Manager & Team Leader and Program Manager at Hewlett-Packard from June 2010 to December 2013, and Program Manager & Team Leader at EDS Group from June 2002 to May 2010. Rene began a career in software development at Swissair, progressing from Information Specialist to a project leadership role over the course of fifteen years.
