Darren Brooks has extensive experience in the field of IT and technical support, spanning over several companies and roles. Darren began their career as an Analyst Programmer at BRITISH SHOE CORPORATION LIMITED, where they worked on store cards, merchandising, and training. Darren then moved on to roles at Land Rover Parts, SMITH & NEPHEW UK LIMITED, Boots UK, and NEXT RETAIL LIMITED, where they gained experience in MIS, support, and programming.

In 1993, Darren joined NSK as a Senior Application Support Analyst, where they provided support for ERP systems using Java and Oracle, as well as COBOL, VSAM, and Easytrieve on IBM legacy systems. Darren remained with NSK until 2017, carrying out support and development tasks.

From 2017 to 2019, Darren worked at SSI Schaefer UK, where they served as the UK Technical Support Team Leader. In this role, they led a team of IT and PLC support engineers, ensuring incidents, requests, changes, and availability were managed within SLAs.

Most recently, in 2019, Darren joined Swisslog Logistics Automation as a Software Support Technical Lead. Darren played a key role in the commissioning and post go-live phases of a new fully automated warehouse, working closely with the customer and internal teams.

Throughout their career, Darren has demonstrated their expertise in technical support, project management, integration, and training. Darren has also consistently provided 24/7 support and has a strong background in various programming languages and systems.

Darren Brooks completed their education in Computer Studies at Hinckley College of Further Education, earning an Ordinary National Diploma in 1984. Darren then pursued their studies at De Montfort University, where they obtained a Higher National Diploma in Computer Science from 1984 to 1986. Following this, they completed a PG Diploma BCS 1&2 in Computer Science at De Montfort University from 1986 to 1987.
