Richard Smith

Richard Smith currently serves as the VP of Sales Solutions and Designs at Swisslog, where leadership includes a diverse team of consultants, system engineers, and solution architects focused on creating competitive solutions for customers. Previous experience includes roles as Vice President of Global Product Engineering at Material Handling Systems, Inc., and Vice President of Engineering and IT Solutions at Vanderlande, where Richard led efforts in high technology automation for logistics. Additional positions include Vice President of Engineering and COO at Cornerstone Automation Systems, General Manager and President at De La Rue, and Manager of Software Development at Motorola. Early career experience includes various roles at GEA Group. Richard holds a BSc in Electrical/Electronic Engineering from Technological University Dublin and has completed the Program for Leadership Development at Harvard Business School. Currently, Richard is pursuing further education at MIT Sloan School of Management.
