Sandipan Samaddar

Sandipan Samaddar currently serves as Team Lead of the Microbial Discovery Team at Switch Bioworks, focusing on engineering microbes for sustainable nitrogen biofertilizer production. Previously, Sandipan held the position of Scientist II at the University of California, Davis, where significant research was conducted on the impact of perennial crops and soil management practices on microbial communities and soil health. Additional experience includes a Visiting PhD Student position at the University of Tartu, a Project Assistant role at Kalinga Institute of Industrial Technology, and internships at the Indian Statistical Institute. Sandipan holds a PhD in Agricultural Chemistry from Chungbuk National University, a Master's in Biotechnology from Kalinga Institute of Industrial Technology, and a Bachelor's in Microbiology from the University of Calcutta.
