David Rainey

David Rainey, NACD.DC, serves as the Director at Switch Energy Alliance since October 2017, focusing on energy education and the elimination of energy poverty. Previously, David held roles as a Board Member for the Greater Houston Women's Chamber of Commerce and as an Independent Director at PetroQuest Energy LLC, where responsibilities included chairing the Compensation Committee and serving on the Audit and Nominating & Governance Committees. David also served as an Independent Director at Stone Energy Corporation and held significant leadership positions at BHP Billiton, including Chief Geoscientist and President of Petroleum Exploration, as well as a Vice President at BP, overseeing various environments, regulatory affairs, and exploration activities. David's educational background includes a Ph.D. and Bachelor's Degree in Geology from The University of Edinburgh, alongside advanced management studies at prestigious institutions such as MIT Sloan School of Management, Stanford University Graduate School of Business, and Northwestern University - Kellogg School of Management.
