Robert Thorn

Robert Thorn is a seasoned expert in operational technology (OT) security with extensive experience spanning over two decades. Currently serving as Principal OT Security Engineer at Sword Group, Robert collaborates with critical national infrastructure (CNI) clients in the UK to enhance their OT security and digitalization strategies. Previously, as OT Security Director at Orbia, Robert developed comprehensive security strategies and standards for various business units and built the OT security function. Robert's background includes significant roles at ENOC as Cyber Security Governance Manager, KPMG UK as OT Cyber Security Architect, and BP as Lead ICS Cyber Security Specialist, among others. Notable contributions include chairing industry committees focused on improving cybersecurity within the oil and gas sector and engaging with the UK government on cybersecurity requirements. Robert holds a Master of Engineering in Computer Control Systems from The University of Huddersfield.
