Sedgwick Smith

Assistant Planner at Southwestern Wisconsin Regional Planning Commission

Sedgwick joins the SWWRPC team as an Assistant Planner. He will assist with a variety of projects with the planning commission helping to ultimately build resiliency in Southwestern Wisconsin. These projects include supporting the comprehensive economic development strategy as well as other planning related duties. He has worked as an intern at the City of Fitchburg’s Planning and Zoning Department. He received his Bachelor’s degree in Urban Studies/Planning and Minored in African and African American Diaspora Studies. Aside from his planning history, Sedgwick has served in several leadership positions and has a history of youth work as well as Journalism. Sedgwick brings a community-based perspective and passion for community engagement in the planning decision-making process. He believes that a collaborative approach is the key to reaching regional equity.

He also attended Madison College earning his Associates degree and was very involved in student affairs.
