Lauren Blake, Ph.D.

Lauren Blake, Ph.D. has a diverse work experience. Lauren is currently working as a Principal Insights Analyst at Syapse since October 2022. Prior to that, they held the position of Clinical Bioinformatics Analyst, Medical Affairs at Invitae from May 2022 to September 2022. Lauren also worked as a Data Scientist at Alto Neuroscience from March 2020 to April 2022.

Lauren's earlier experiences include working as a Genomics Research Fellow at the University of Chicago from September 2014 to March 2020. Lauren also had roles as an Innovation Corps- Machine Learning in Education, Technical Lead at the Polsky Center for Entrepreneurship and Innovation at The University of Chicago in October to November 2019, as well as an Innovation Fellow at UChicago Biotechnology Association from February 2019 to August 2019.

Prior to that, Lauren was an Innovation Corps- Team Technical Lead at the Polsky Center for Entrepreneurship and Innovation at The University of Chicago from September 2018 to December 2018. Lauren also served as a Center of Excellence for Eating Disorders Summer Research Fellow at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill from June 2018 to August 2018.

Lauren's earlier experiences also include working as a Curriculum Developer/Educator at ASC English from June 2011 to November 2015, and as a Research Assistant at Duke University from January 2012 to December 2013.

Dr. Lauren Blake obtained their Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Biological Anthropology and Anatomy, with a minor in Statistical Science, from Duke University in 2013. In 2011, they also received a Certificate in Teaching English as a Foreign Language (TEFL) from the Boston Language Institute. Dr. Blake went on to pursue their Master of Science (M.S.) degree in Human Genetics at the University of Chicago from 2014 to 2017. Lauren continued their education at the University of Chicago and earned their Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) degree in Human Genetics in 2020.
