Rhys Haynes

Rhys Haynes is an experienced communications professional with a diverse background in public transport and media. Currently serving as the Director of Project Communications for Sydney Metro on the Western Sydney Airport initiative since June 2023, Rhys previously held various leadership roles at Transport for NSW, including Director of Engagement and Communication for Greater Sydney - Parramatta and Director of Communication and Engagement for the Parramatta Light Rail project. Earlier experience includes serving as Director of Ministerial and Corporate Communications at Destination NSW and handling communication roles for NSW Government ministers, including the Treasurer Gladys Berejiklian. Rhys began a career in journalism at Australian Associated Press and News Corp Australia, covering transport and business sectors. Rhys is an alumnus of North Sydney Boys High School.
