Vijay Kumar

Vijay Kumar currently serves as the Director of Engineering at Sydney Metro since June 2021. Prior to this role, Vijay held the position of CBTC Technical Manager & System Integration Manager at MTR Corporation (Australia) from May 2020 to June 2021, contributing to the Sydney Metro City & South West GOA4 Project. Vijay's extensive career in the engineering field includes leadership roles at Siemens Mobility as Head of Engineering for the AUNZ & ASEAN Mobility Division, and multiple vice president positions at Ansaldo STS focused on freight systems, standard product introduction, and engineering management. Vijay began professional expertise with Indian Railways and has a solid educational background with a BE in Electronics & Communications from Birla Institute of Technology and a specialized course in Railway Signalling & Communication Systems from the Indian Railway Institute of Signal Engineering.
