Jake Burgess

Jake Burgess is a seasoned professional with a robust background in zoological management and investment advisory. As the Co-Founder and Managing Director of Sydney Zoo Pty Ltd since January 2015, Jake has played a pivotal role in establishing a major Zoological Park in Blacktown, NSW, noted for being the first significant zoo built from scratch in a major city in a century. In addition to this, Jake served on the NSW Aboriginal Land Council Independent Advisory Committee from September 2014 to September 2022, offering strategic advice on funding proposals for local Aboriginal Land Councils. Prior experience includes significant roles at Quay Partners as a Partner and Investment Committee Member, as well as positions at AVCAL and Pest Animal Control CRC. Jake holds an MBA from AGSM @ UNSW Business School and a BSc (Hons) in Geography and Environmental Science from the University of Sydney.
