Georges Houtappel

Georges Houtappel has extensive work experience in various roles and industries. Georges started their career as an intern at CERN in 1996. Georges then worked as a Commissioning Manager at Siemens from 1998 to 2001, followed by a role as a Project Manager from 2002 to 2005 at the same company. Georges then joined McKinsey & Company as a Senior Engagement Manager from 2006 to 2012.

In 2013, they joined the Solvay Group as the Vice President and Global Head of Commercial Excellence, serving from 2013 to 2015. Georges later took on multiple positions at Solvay, including Senior Vice President, Head of Customer Excellence and Senior Key Account Manager from 2016 to 2017, Senior Vice President of Marketing and Business Development from 2017 to 2019, Head of Fluorinated Elastomers and Plastomers Business from 2019 to 2020, and finally Global Head of Automotive Business from 2020 to 2023.

Georges Houtappel will then join Syensqo in 2023 as the Global Head of Transportation Business.

Georges Houtappel completed a Master of Science degree in Electrical Power Engineering from KU Leuven from 1993 to 1998. Georges also pursued an MBA from INSEAD in 2005 and 2006.
