Rob Blackburn

Rob Blackburn has extensive work experience in the field of customer engineering and application research. Rob is currently the Global Customer Engineering Director at Syensqo, starting in December 2023. Prior to this, they held various positions at Solvay, including Head of Global Customer Engineering from May 2023 to December 2023, Head of Customer Engineering (EMEA) from August 2020 to May 2023, and Application Engineering Director from January 2016 to August 2020. Before Solvay, Rob worked at Cytec, where they served as the Application Research & Engineering Director from December 2014 to January 2016, Application Research & Engineering Manager from August 2011 to December 2014, Application Research & Engineering Team Leader from January 2009 to September 2011, Application Engineer from March 2006 to January 2009, and Technical Service Engineer from October 2003 to March 2006. Rob also worked as an R&D Engineer in Composites at GKN Aerospace from September 2001 to October 2003.

Rob Blackburn completed their BEng in Aircraft Structures from the University of Lincoln in 2001. Rob later pursued an MPhil in Composites Manufacturing from the University of Plymouth, which they completed in 2009.
