Marc Janes

Marc Janes, Ph.D. has extensive experience in various roles related to commercial and strategic partnerships, business development, and innovation. Marc is currently the Senior Vice President of Commercial and Strategic Partnerships at Sygnature Discovery since January 2024. Prior to this, Marc held multiple positions at NuChem Sciences, including Partner, Board Member, Vice President of Business Development and Innovation, Partner, Board Member, Senior Director of Business Development, Senior Director of Business Development, and Director of Business Development. Marc was also a Board Member of Industrial Liaison at the Canadian Society for Chemistry from August 2019 to November 2022. Marc's earlier experience includes roles as Director of Sales and Business Development at PCAS, Lecturer at Université de Montréal, Vice President of Business Development at Santai Labs Inc., and various roles at Soluphase Inc. and Gestion Univalor. Marc started their career in Medicinal Chemistry at Merck in 1999.

Marc Janes, Ph.D. obtained a B.Sc., M.Sc., and Ph.D. in Organic Chemistry from Université de Montréal between 1996 and 2005. In 2012, they completed an Executive Education program in Leadership and Strategy in Pharmaceuticals and Biotech at Harvard Business School. In 2018, they received a certificate in Leadership and Strategic Management from Cornell University's eCornell Certificate Program in Sales Growth. Additionally, in 2009, they took courses in the Development of pharmaceutical products from the Faculty of Pharmacy at Université Laval, as well as participated in MBA program courses in Business Administration at the same university.
