Jim Thomson

Jim Thomson has a diverse work experience spanning over several decades. Jim'smost recent role was as the Chief Financial Officer at the Sylvite Group of Companies, a position they began in 2006. Prior to that, they served as the Vice-President of Finance and Administration at Shred-it from 1998 to 2005. Jim also held the role of Director of Finance at Conor Pacific Environmental Technologies Inc. in 1997 and at Laidlaw Waste Systems Ltd from 1987 to 1997. Jim worked as a Business Consultant at James S Thomson from 1986 to 1987 and as a Controller at Howell Transport Canada Inc from 1982 to 1986. Jim began their career as a Chartered Accountant at Kinsey, Houser McNabb Chartered Accountants in 1981 and at Thorne Riddell Chartered Accountants (now KPMG) from 1977 to 1981.

Jim Thomson has a CPA, CA degree from the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Ontario. Jim also has a CF degree in Corporate Finance from the Canadian Institute of Chartered Accountants. Jim attended the Niagara Institute for a program called CFO & Beyond. Jim Thomson holds a BA degree from Western University.
