Alison O'Connell

Alison O'Connell is an experienced communications professional with a diverse work history. Alison currently serves as a Communications Manager at Symbotic, where they collaborate with business partners to identify, write, and edit articles, announcements, scripts, and other collateral. Alison also develops engaging and creative communications for various audiences using multi-media formats, manages employee engagement programs, and oversees the company's intranet and social media platforms.

Prior to their role at Symbotic, Alison held positions at DentaQuest as an Internal Communications Manager and Content Manager & Internal Connections Lead. In these roles, they were responsible for managing internal communications initiatives, developing content, and facilitating connections within the organization.

Alison also served as a Communications Lead for the Gas Business Enablement division at National Grid, where they played a crucial role in communication strategies. At Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, they worked as a Senior Writer, contributing to the organization's written content.

In addition, Alison has experience in marketing and social media solutions as a Marketing Communications and Strategy Consultant. Alison has also held roles at Tufts University School of Medicine, JHPIEGO, American University, zcomm Marketing Communications Agency, and The World Bank, where they worked on various projects and gained valuable expertise in strategic communications and media.

Alison O'Connell has a diverse education history spanning various institutions and fields of study.

In 1992, they graduated from Thayer Academy, where they obtained their High School Diploma. During their time at Thayer Academy, they focused on AP English, AP American History, and AP Biology.

Following their high school graduation, Alison attended Pepperdine University from 1999 to 2003. At Pepperdine, they pursued a Bachelor of Arts degree, majoring in Public Relations and Italian.

In 2009, Alison briefly attended Boston University, where they focused on Communications; however, they did not complete a degree at this institution.

Later, they pursued further education at American University from 2010 to 2012, where they obtained a Master of Arts degree in International Media.

In addition to their formal education, Alison O'Connell holds a certification as a Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT 200) from Yoga Alliance, which they obtained in June 2021.
